# What You'll Need:

→ Fruit

01 - 1/2 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
02 - 1/2 cup strawberries, hulled and chopped
03 - 1/2 cup fresh coconut meat or unsweetened shredded coconut

# Step-by-Step Directions:

01 - Rinse blueberries, hull and chop strawberries, and portion coconut meat or shredded coconut as needed.
02 - Add blueberries to fill one-third of each ice cube compartment. Pour a small amount of blueberry juice to just cover the berries. Freeze for 1 hour or until solid.
03 - Place coconut meat or a sprinkle of shredded coconut atop the frozen blue layer. Pour coconut water to fill the next third of each compartment. Freeze for 1 hour or until firm.
04 - Place chopped strawberries on top, then pour strawberry or cranberry juice to fill each compartment completely. Freeze for at least 2 hours or until entirely solid.
05 - Remove ice cubes from trays and add to lemonade, sparkling water, or cocktails for festive color and flavor.

# Expert Suggestions:

01 -
  • You’ll secretly smile every time your drink turns into a glittering display of color (and your friends will definitely notice).
  • It’s ridiculously easy, but somehow feels like a magic trick when you pop the cubes out.
02 -
  • Trying to hurry the layers sets you up for murky colors—give each one its time to freeze, trust me.
  • Chilling the juices and coconut water ahead speeds things up and keeps fruit suspended in perfect layers.
03 -
  • Never overfill the tray or the cubes will meld together in the freezer—leave a sliver of room at the top.
  • You can sneak in a drop of lemon juice to each layer to boost fruit flavors and keep colors bright.
